EVENT INFORMATION

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:

Most polo events and matches will adhere to the following schedule, unless the event is canceled or interrupted by weather or other unforeseen events. Please reference each event's webpage for schedule details.

  • 1:00 PM - Gates Open

  • 3:00 PM - Polo Festivities Begin

  • 3:15 PM - 6-Chukker Feature Match Begins

  • 4:00 PM - Halftime Divot Stomp

  • 5:00 PM - Match Ends

  • 5:15 PM - Awards Ceremony

TICKETS:

Ticketing options include General Admission and Saddle Club Seating Tickets, Reserved Tables, Small and Large Field-side Tents and Tailgating. We recommend tickets be purchased online in advance of the scheduled event. Especially areas where there is limited availability. We will be accepting cash or credit card transactions onsite during scheduled events, but to avoid lines and waiting times, please try to purchase in advance.. Please have your ticket ready upon arrival. Tickets purchased online and with a credit card are subject to additional service charges. Free admission for children under the age of 12. 

PERMITTED ITEMS

Tailgaters and Lawn Seat ticket holders will be permitted to bring the following items. These items are NOT allowed for Saddle Club, General Admission or Reserved Table seating...

  • Picnic Blanket(s) (water resistant recommended)

  • Collapsable Folding Chair(s)

  • Portable Cooler(s)

  • Food / Large Picnic. It is recommended that meals should be individually packaged​. Picnic Baskets and Boxed Lunches are available through OBPC's exclusive onsite caterer, Creme of the Crop. Click here for menu and ordering options

  • Staked Umbrellas or Tent (no bigger than 10'x10') for additional shade (Tailgate Only)

All Spectators will be permitted and encouraged to bring the following items

  • Sunscreen

  • Baseball Cap or Large Sun Hat

  • Camera and/or Binoculars

  • Comfortable footware

  • Country Club Attire

​PROHIBITTED ITEMS....

​

  • Open flame grills​

  • Tents or umbrellas over 10'x10' or 100 sq. ft.

  • Throwable items, including frisbees, footballs, baseballs, etc.

  • Drones or any type of airborne object

  • Weapons

  • Inappropriate attire

NO REFUNDS FOR RAIN OUT DAYS:

Oak Brook Polo Club will make every attempt to host the the scheduled event due to weather. In the event of cancellation, attendees are allowed to transfer their ticket to another scheduled Oak Brook Polo event pending availability at no additional charge. Please contact Oak Brook Polo Club at info@oakbrookpoloclub.com or (847) 653-6242 to reschedule your reservations for another event.

PARKING:

Free parking and shuttle service is available to-and-from the polo field from the Christ Church Oak Brook (501 Oak Brook Rd.., Oak Brook, IL 60523)..

 

Limited parking is available at the field for approved ticketed guests or at a fee of $20.00 per vehicle. Any non-permitted vehicles entering the Polo Grounds will be turned away. This can be purchased where tickets are sold and MUST be purchased in advance alongside the purchase of your ticket.

FIELD LOCATION:

Oak Brook Polo Club's Cecil Smith Field is located north of 31st Street / Oak Brook Rd., off of Polo Dr. in Oak Brook, Illinois at 700 Oak Brook Rd., (Sports Core Polo Grounds). Turn north from 31st St. / Oak Brook Rd. onto Polo Dr., the entrance and road leading to the Oak Brook Library, Sports Score Soccer Ground and Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club.. The Field is just east of the Oak Brook Bath & Tennis Club on Butler National Golf Club's Practice Range. Please follow the posted directional signs.

DOG POLICY:

Dogs are allowed at the present time but must be on a leash at all times and handled by its owner.

SMOKING:

Smoking is permitted on Oak Brook's Polo Grounds in designated areas (Tailgate Club) or behind west sideline seating alongside the paved cart path.

DRESS CODE:

Dress for the weather and comfort. Please refrain from wearing anything inappropriate and too revealing, including politically motivated attire and swimsuits. There is also very little shade on our polo grounds, so a hat and sunscreen is highly recommended. If the day's weather calls for any rain, we recommend having an umbrella handy. Country Club attire is the most commonly recommended.

ALCOHOL

With the exception of tailgating, out alcohol is NOT permitted. Designated bars will be onsite to purchase alcohol beverages for spectators 21 years or older. Rowdiness and over consumption is not permitted. Both Club staff and local enforcement will be monitoring spectators who do not comply.

OUTSIDE FOOD

Lawn, Tailgate & Private Field-Side Tent guests are allowed to bring their own picnics. It is recommended that box meals be provided as an alternative shared plates or buffets. Food deliveries or catering is only permitted for Private Field-Side Tents.

CANCELLATION:

Oak Brook Polo Club's most important responsibility is to ensure the safety of all our polo players and ponies on the field. Matches will generally go forward with light rain and wind conditions. However, in the event of threatening weather, or adverse field conditions due to heavy rain, organizers reserve the right to:

 

  • Cancel match and re-schedule

  • Interrupt and suspend games as necessary; matches that are continued from the point of interruption may be subject to modified rules if they resume, as circumstances warrant

  • Reduce match times in order to catch up with tournament schedules

  • Finish or end matches before inclement weather arrives or to preserve field conditions; matches will be deemed official at the point of termination regardless or actual duration

​TICKET PURCHASE POLICY:

By purchasing a ticket(s) and/or entering onto the polo grounds of an Oak Brook Polo Club (OBPC) sanctioned and scheduled event, you assume all risk and danger incidental to the game of polo and release OBPC, its sponsors, host organizations, participating players, and their agents from any liabilities resulting from such entry. You further grant permission to OBPC and its title sponsors to use your image or likeness incidental to any live or recorded television, print materials, and other transmission and reproduction in whole or in part of any OBPC event.

Under the Equine Activity Liability Act, each

participant who engages in an equine activity

expressly assumes the risks of engaging in and

legal responsibility for injury, loss, or

damage to person or property resulting

from the risk of equine activities.

OBPC, the Village of Oak Brook, and Pineoak Partners LLC cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Attending a polo event could increase your risk and your child(ren)’s risk of contracting COVID-19.

 

By purchasing a ticket, You acknowledge the contagious nature of COVID-19 and voluntarily assume the risk that your child(ren) and you may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by attending a polo event and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death. You understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at a polo event may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself and others, including, but not limited to, OBPC, the Village of Oak Brook, and Pineoak Partners LLC and their employees, volunteers, and event participants and their families. You voluntarily agree to assume all of the foregoing risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury to your child(ren) or yourself (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability, or expense, of any kind, that you or your child(ren) may experience or incur in connection with you or your child(ren)’s attendance at a polo event (the “Claims”). On your behalf, and on behalf of your children, you hereby release, covenant not to sue, discharge, and hold harmless OBPC, the Village of Oak Brook, and Pineoak Partners LLC and their employees, agents, and representatives, of and from the Claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto. You understand and agree that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of OBPC, the Village of Oak Brook, and Pineoak Partners LLC and their employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any OBPC event.
